STREET FIGHTING MAN / NO EXPECTATIONS
In 1968, when the Rolling Stones released the picture sleeve single of “Street Fighting Man” and “No Expectations” in the United States, it was the first Stones picture sleeve issued without a group photo. Instead, the sleeve contained two images of police brutality. Released on August 31, 1968 — three days after the riots and protests at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago — these sleeves were promptly recalled before being shipped to distributors. Almost all were immediately destroyed, but likely due to the actions of an employee (or employees) of London Records, some of the sleeves were spared. Approximately 12 are known to exist today, including this one that we recently sold.
RONNIE WOOD SERIGRAPHS SET
These serigraphs are a limited edition 1990s set created from a set of original paintings of the Rolling Stones by band member Ronnie Wood. Ronnie Wood has been painting for years. In the past, Rockaway has had other Wood serigraphs, but this set is different. Not only is it of all the Stones, but these paintings resemble portraits more so than the ones in the past, which were more similar stylistically to caricatures. Each portrait is 22.25” x 25.75” in size, professionally framed, and the set comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
TOUR OF THE AMERICAS '75
This hardcover book details the Rolling Stones and their 1975 Tour Of The Americas. This particular book was an advance copy sent to the artists for their review and corrections. The finalized, deluxe editions of this book were already limited (only 350 ever made) but this, being an un-numbered, pre-production proof, is even more scarce. The later finalized copies came with a Mick Jagger photo inside. However, this one was printed before the photo's addition. All other inserts are included, plus a custom “TOTA ‘75” cloth outer bag.
OAKLAND STADIUM CONCERT POSTER
In 1994, The Rolling Stones went on their worldwide Voodoo Lounge Tour to promote their album Voodoo Lounge. Along the way, they stopped at the Oakland Stadium in Oakland, California to perform with Seal for four nights between October 26th and 31st. This is the promotional poster from that concert run. Since their final show of the run happened on Halloween, the poster features the band members dressed up in costume. This is a BGP-100, 1st printing poster and is 28” x 18.5” in size.
RADIO SAMPLER
In 1986, the Rolling Stones released this 10-track promotional "hits" CD to radio stations, buyers and others. This CD sampler was for promotional purposes only and was never sold. The sampler features 10 songs, including such classics as “Start Me Up”, “Brown Sugar” and “Angie”.
