Well, I would rate visiting Rockaway Records equally so. As a visiting Australian I've been buying collectable records in the US since 1980. I've worked in some of Sydney's most legendary music emporiums so I know a thing or two about what constitutes a great store. Rockaway has all the required attributes: extensive knowledge, ever-changing stock, fantastic personable service. There's no attitude in respect to whatever your tastes may be, and whether buying or selling, prices are both informed and fair. Whenever I visit the States, Rockaway is always on the itinerary.

And when I can't get there in person, I scope their website and Discogs listings. The packing division sets the standard that all others should aspire to - one's precious purchases always arrive in great shape, and are generally better than their original descriptions. Rockaway truly is second to none in their field. 

 A number of years ago as I was downsizing, it broke my heart to sell my vinyl collection which started back in 1954 and grew to almost 85,000 albums. A close friend recommended Wayne at Rockaway as honest and dedicated to the music. Well, he exceeded all my expectations from day one.

His remuneration was more than fair, but what made him a real mensch was coming back a few times with an additional check for records that sold beyond his expectations. When I left Santa Monica and had to sell my nearly 40,000 cd's, he was wonderful once again. I can't give higher superlatives to Wayne & Rockaway. He cares...he knows...he respects.
