BEATLES

My Bonnie / The Saints

$6,500.00

1962 black label original Canadian 45. Artist listed on labels as "Tony Sheridan And The Beat Brothers". This extremely rare 45 was issued in Canada on or around April 23rd, 1962, the same date as the US Decca single was released.

The US single was manufactured at two different pressing plants and is very rare. However, this Canadian issue was pressed only at one plant - Compo in Montreal - and only once.

Although it is unknown how many copies were pressed, it would have been a very small number, as it was never promoted and failed to chart. No promo copies were made. It is estimated that today only seven to ten copies are known to exist.

Various counterfeit copies of this record exist. However this copy is 100% genuine, as determined by the machine stamped matrix numbers in the trail-off areas - "DGG-66833 A4" and "DGG-24673 R4" (though the "R" is reversed). Also, it is important to note that these numbers are not engraved, but instead they are embossed (raised). This was a unique attribute of many Decca 45s. In addition, each label has its matrix number faintly etched into the vinyl. This only becomes visible when held under a bright light and tilted in multiple directions.

The condition of the vinyl is beautiful with only some light surface scuffs, visible when viewed under bright light. The labels are near perfect on both sides, with NO writing, tears, etc. A stellar example!

An important and super rare issue of the first record featuring The Beatles!
