BEATLES
Meet The Beatles
Super rare 1964 mono LP cover with 6.25" x 1.5" "Press Information" sticker on front and complete press kit. No record included, as it is believed that none were ever originally inside this stickered jacket.
These Meet The Beatles press kits were only distributed to reporters and photographers who attended the group's press conference at the Plaza Hotel in New York City on February 10th, 1964, the day after they had their first appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show.
The contents of the cover include a "National Record News" newspaper, two glossy 8" x 10" Dezo Hoffman promo photos of the group with printed autographs, 3-page biography of each band member, as well as a 5-page one for the group.
Though not originally part of this press kit, included with it as a bonus is a 3-page Capitol press release dated January 29th, 1964 titled "What's Happening In Beatleland".
Cover has some general wear and light stains, as well as a small tear on the back between "A" & "T" in BEATLES. A name is written near the top left corner of the back cover and the spine is somewhat tattered. The press Information sticker (the valuable part) is in nice shape, with just some minor wear. The contents are in beautiful condition, but the two promo photos do have some light waviness and small tears on the back, due to being mounted at one time.
Very few copies of this stickered album cover are known to still exist and of those, only two or three have complete press kits like this one.
This is a rare piece of Beatles history from their first US visit!
