1965 San Diego Balboa Stadium Concert File
Rockaway Records in pleased to offer a complete file that offers a fascinating glimpse into the behind-the-scenes details of The Beatles' historic performance at Balboa Stadium in San Diego on August 28, 1965. To mark the 60th anniversary of this iconic show, we are offering promoter Lou Robin’s entire concert file. A treasure trove of documentation surrounding the event and provides an insider’s view into the logistical challenges and efforts involved in bringing The Beatles to San Diego. Robin lobbied GAC to give him a city on the 1965 tour after he passed on presenting the Beatles at the Hollywood Bowl on August 23, 1964. At the last minute, GAC offered him Salt Lake City, Utah or San Diego, California-he chose the latter. Robin went on to become Johnny Cash’s long-time manager until his death.
