Yesterday And Today
1966 stereo original "First State" "Butcher" cover LP. This one never had the second (trunk) slick pasted over it. This is a Scranton issue (small factory number "2" on back cover). The front cover is in beautiful condition with a only a small 1/4" tear in the background area between Ringo's shoulder and the right edge. The back cover has some light tanning, but no writing or tears. There is a 7" seam split along the top edge extending from about the center of the cover to the top right corner, where there is some small paper loss. There is a 1/2" seam split at the bottom right corner of the cover and there is some small paper loss there. Mono First State "Butchers" are quite rare, but Stereo issues are extremely rare, with near mint examples selling for up to $30,000. This is a very nice condition somewhat more affordable example. Although it would frame up beautifully and the flaws would be much less visible, the cover could also be professionally repaired, which would improve the aesthetics greatly. This could be arranged at the buyer's request and expense. Includes Rockaway Records Letter of Authenticity, as well as a Perry Cox Letter of Authenticity.
